Civic & Community Memorials

Monuments that honor those who serve — and become a place where a whole community can return to remember, together.

Honoring Those Who Serve

Built for a Whole Community

A civic memorial is different from a family monument. It belongs to a whole department, school, or town, and it's built to stand at the center of public life for generations. The names on it are searched for and remembered for decades.

For nearly sixty years, our family has worked with police and fire agencies, veterans' groups, schools, and faith communities across Southern California to design and craft monuments that do more than mark a name. They become gathering places, somewhere people can come back to and remember those who gave their service.

Anaheim Police K-9 Memorial

A six-foot granite German shepherd keeps watch outside the Anaheim PD East Station, its jet-black marble pedestal etched with the names of 27 service dogs, from Cliff in 1981 to Bruno, wounded in the line of duty in 2014. Privately funded and unveiled in October 2015, it was designed with room for 150 years of future names so the unit's memory can keep growing.
