About VJ Memorials, Monument Craftsmen Since 1966

For nearly six decades, we've approached every monument with the same devotion — because we know it's not just stone. It's someone's story.

Our Story

Founded in 1966 by John Provines

VJ Memorials was founded in 1966 by John Provines, who opened the doors at just 25 years old with a simple mission: to create memorials that honor lives with dignity and care. In those early days, John served only two cemeteries — Santa Barbara Cemetery in California and Pet Haven Cemetery in Los Angeles — handcrafting each piece with the attention every family deserves.

Over the decades, John grew the company into one of the larger importers of granite headstones in California, eventually owning a quarry in San Diego. His craftsmanship, integrity, and warmth earned him deep respect throughout the memorial industry, and he was loved by everyone who knew him. Though John passed away in 2021, his vision and values continue to guide everything we do.

Many longtime customers may recognize Christina's face from the sample memorials we've displayed over the years.

Family At Heart

A Family Company, Serving Southern California for Nearly 60 Years

VJ Memorials has always been a family company at heart. Throughout our history, many of John's family members have worked alongside him, each bringing their own care and craftsmanship to the memorials we create. That family spirit is still very much alive today.

For more than 35 years, we've called Chino, California home, and for nearly six decades we've proudly served cemeteries across Southern California — including the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Orange County. Every headstone, monument, and memorial bench that leaves our shop is built with the same dignity and craftsmanship John brought to the very first one.

VJ Memorials Today

Led by Corinne Moreno

VJ Memorials is now owned by Rob Provines and Corinne Moreno, but make no mistake — Corinne is the one who makes this company what it is today. From the first phone call with a grieving family to the final placement of a memorial, she carries this business on her shoulders with grace, skill, and genuine care. Rob is proud to support her work and let her lead VJ Memorials into its next chapter.

Our Promise · Since 1966
"As we look to the years ahead, our promise remains the same as it was in 1966: to help families remember their loved ones beautifully, and to treat every memorial we create as if it were our own."
