Setting & Installation

Who Sets the Stone at Bardsdale

How It Works

What we handle: Design, engraving, and delivery. We submit your design to the Bardsdale Cemetery District Board of Trustees for approval, coordinate the delivery schedule with the cemetery manager, and bring the finished memorial to the grounds on the scheduled day. You don’t have to chase paperwork or coordinate with the District office. We do that for you.

Who sets the marker: The setting of every memorial at Bardsdale is performed by employees of the Bardsdale Cemetery District. Outside companies are not permitted to install monuments on the grounds. This is District policy.

Setting fee: Bardsdale Cemetery District charges a setting fee that varies by marker size. Call us for current prices, and the District will confirm the exact charge when your design is approved.

Endowment care fee: A one-time contribution to the District’s perpetual care fund, the savings account that funds the long-term maintenance of the grounds. Every cemetery district in California is required by law to maintain one.

Timeline: Most Flat Markers are ready in 2–6 weeks after the District approves the design. Once we deliver to Bardsdale, the District’s grounds crew typically sets the marker within 2–3 weeks.

About the Cemetery

The Only Cemetery Serving Fillmore & Bardsdale

A Historic District Cemetery

Founded 1895, on land that was once part of the Rancho Sespe grant.

Bardsdale Cemetery was established in 1895, only a few years after the town of Bardsdale itself was laid out by real estate developer Royce G. Surdam on 1,500 acres of the old Rancho Sespe land grant. The cemetery operated as an association until July 20, 1914, when it became the Bardsdale Cemetery District under the California Health and Safety Code.
