Approved Sizes and the Cemetery’s Regulations

Live Oak’s Rules: What’s Allowed

At Live Oak Memorial Park, the flat granite marker set flush with the lawn is the standard memorial across most of the park. Live Oak is also one of the few parks in the San Gabriel Valley that permits upright monuments, which are placed in designated sections with the cemetery’s approval. Bronze markers are allowed with a granite base; the office confirms bronze sizes and plot specifications for each space. Every granite marker is at least 3 inches thick, the legal name must appear on the marker, and flower containers cannot be built into the memorial. We check your section’s rules with the Live Oak office on every order.

What Families Say About Us

Common Questions

What Families Ask About Live Oak

Do you handle everything with Live Oak?

Yes. We design and engrave the memorial at our Chino factory, and once you approve the design proof we take it from there: the marker authorization, paperwork, and delivery coordination with the Live Oak office. No separate calls on your end.

What are Live Oak Memorial Park’s visiting hours?

Live Oak Memorial Park’s gates are open daily from 8am to 7pm, and the cemetery office is open daily from 8am to 5pm. For holiday hours or section access questions, call the Live Oak office at (626) 359-5311.

What types of memorials are allowed at Live Oak Memorial Park?

Live Oak Memorial Park allows flat granite markers throughout the park, upright monuments in designated sections with cemetery approval, and bronze markers set on a granite base. See the regulations section above for permitted sizes.

What are the setting fees at Live Oak Memorial Park?

Live Oak Memorial Park bills its own installation fees directly to the family, separate from the cost of the memorial, and the fee must be paid before delivery. Current fees: $695 for flat markers, $895 for the 32″ × 20″ × 3″ companion marker, and $1,095 for upright monuments, half and full ledgers, benches, and boulders. Call us at (909) 902-9000 and we’ll walk you through what to expect for your marker. Fees listed as of August 13, 2026.

Who installs the marker at Live Oak?

Live Oak’s grounds crew. We deliver the finished memorial to the park, and their team places it level with the lawn. The setting fee covers this installation.

How long does it take to get a headstone made and set at Live Oak?

In-stock flat markers are ready in 2–4 weeks. Special orders may take longer; we’ll let you know up front. Once delivered to Live Oak Memorial Park, the cemetery typically sets the marker within five business days.

Can I add an inscription to an existing memorial at Live Oak?

We do not add inscriptions at Live Oak Memorial Park. We retrieve flat memorials and bring them back to our factory, where we professionally clean them and add the inscription, then deliver the memorial back to the cemetery. A second setting fee is usually required.

What is the flower policy at Live Oak?

Fresh flowers and decorations are removed every Thursday morning, and funeral flowers stay for at least three days after the service. Artificial flowers and decorations are cleared on the last Thursday of January, April, July, and October. Holiday exceptions are posted in the mortuary office.
