Approved Sizes and the Cemetery’s Regulations
Green Hills is a flat marker park. Memorials are granite, set level with the lawn, and the park does not place upright monuments or benches. Edge styles are open: polished, beveled, straight, and sanded edges are all accepted. The park keeps no written specification sheet, so we confirm the rules with the office on every order, and the family signs Green Hills’ authorization form at the park before the marker is placed.
Single Marker
28″ × 16″ × 3″. The standard single adult marker at Green Hills, with room for a name, dates, an inscription, and artwork such as a portrait or scene.
Single Marker
32″ × 16″ × 3″. A wider single marker for families who want extra space for artwork or a longer inscription on one grave.
Side by Side Marker
56″ × 16″ × 3″. The companion marker for two adjacent spaces, centered across both graves with room for two names and a shared design.

Do you handle everything with Green Hills?
Yes. We design and engrave the memorial at our Chino factory, and once you approve the design proof we take it from there: paperwork, cemetery approval, and delivery coordination. Green Hills asks the family to sign its placement authorization form at the park office; we let you know when it’s ready for your signature.
What are Green Hills’ visiting hours?
Green Hills Memorial Park is open daily from 7:00 AM, closing at 7:00 PM during the daylight saving months (early March through early November) and at 5:00 PM in winter. For holiday hours or section access questions, call the cemetery office at (310) 831-0311.
What types of memorials are allowed at Green Hills?
Green Hills allows flat granite markers only, in three approved sizes. See the Cemetery Regulations section above for every permitted size and section rule.
What are the setting fees at Green Hills Memorial Park?
Green Hills charges a setting fee paid directly to the cemetery before they accept the marker, separate from the cost of the memorial. The park does not publish a fee schedule; the cemetery office quotes the current fee with each order. Call us at (909) 902-9000 and we’ll walk you through what to expect for your marker.
Who installs the marker at Green Hills?
Green Hills’ own grounds crew. We deliver the finished memorial to the park, and their team sets it level with the ground. The setting fee covers this installation.
How long does it take to get a headstone made and set at Green Hills?
In-stock flat markers are ready in 2–4 weeks. Special orders may take longer; we’ll let you know up front. Once delivered to Green Hills, the cemetery typically sets the marker within five business days.
Can I add an inscription to an existing memorial at Green Hills?
On site engraving is one of our specialties at most Southern California cemeteries, but Green Hills Memorial Park handles inscriptions on existing memorials in house through their own office. To add a name, date, or inscription to a memorial already at Green Hills Memorial Park, contact the Green Hills Memorial Park office directly at (310) 831-0311.
From Our Chino Factory to Green Hills
Our factory and showrooms in Chino are about 54 miles from Green Hills Memorial Park, roughly 75 minutes on the 60, the 91, and the 110. Every memorial bound for Green Hills is designed and hand-finished here in Chino, then delivered by our own team.
Since the drive from our Chino factory to Green Hills is up to 90 minutes depending on traffic, most families prefer working with us by phone. We send proofs digitally and handle the park’s approval process for you.
A South Bay Landmark on the Palos Verdes Peninsula
Founded in 1948 by Robert T. McNerney and a group of local businessmen, on 120 acres of grazing land along Western Avenue.
Green Hills is a 120 acre memorial park overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and the Los Angeles skyline. A Mediterranean style mortuary and chapel were added in 1962, bringing funeral, cremation, and burial services onto one property, and the grounds became part of the newly incorporated city of Rancho Palos Verdes in 1973.
