Approved Sizes and the Cemetery’s Regulations
La Verne Cemetery accepts flat granite markers with any edge style: plain polished, a polished bevel, or a sanded border. Upright monuments are permitted in select sections once the cemetery approves the design and the monument’s foundation. Porcelain photo portraits are welcome on any marker; tile photo inlays are not permitted. Every memorial goes through the cemetery’s installation application before delivery, and we handle that paperwork for you.
Cremation / Child Marker
24″ × 12″ × 3″. A compact flat marker for cremation, infant, or single graves where a smaller stone fits the space.
Single Marker
28″ × 16″ × 3″. The standard single adult marker, with room for a name, dates, artwork, and an inscription.
Side by Side Marker
36″ × 18″ × 3″. A companion flat marker for two adjacent plots, centered across both spaces.
Upright Monument
Select sections only, with the cemetery’s prior approval. Each upright is set on an approved foundation, and the cemetery supervises the setting once the foundation has cured.
La Verne Cemetery allows our full palette of 18 granite colors. Markers in the baby and cremation sections are black granite only.

What are the setting and endowment fees at La Verne Cemetery?
As of August 18, 2026, La Verne Cemetery charges a $135 layout and inspection fee for each marker installed, payable when the installation application is submitted. Upright monuments add a $55 supervision fee when the monument is set on its foundation. The cemetery also collects an endowment care contribution of 40¢ per square inch of the marker’s base, about $179 for a standard 28″ × 16″ × 3″ marker. These fees are separate from the cost of the memorial and are itemized in your quote. The endowment care fund is a savings account that funds the long-term care of the grounds; every cemetery in California is required by law to maintain one.
Who installs the marker at La Verne Cemetery?
We do. La Verne Cemetery does not provide installation services, so our own crew delivers the finished memorial and sets it. The cemetery’s staff verify the layout and inspect the finished installation, which is what the layout and inspection fee covers.
How long does it take to get a headstone made and set at La Verne Cemetery?

A Quiet La Verne Landmark
Established as Evergreen Cemetery in the late 1800s, when the town around it was still known as Lordsburg.
The cemetery covers about ten quiet acres at 3201 B Street, with mature trees and a clear view of the San Gabriel Mountains. It carried the Evergreen name for years before taking the name of the city that grew up around it.
