What types of memorials are allowed at Little Lake Cemetery?
Little Lake Cemetery allows flat markers only, in granite or bronze. See the Cemetery Regulations section above for every permitted size and section rule.
Why can’t I buy the headstone from the cemetery?
Little Lake Cemetery District is a public cemetery district, and California law prohibits public cemeteries from selling memorials. Families buy the marker from a monument company like ours, and the District installs it for a setting fee.
What are the setting fees at Little Lake Cemetery District?
Little Lake Cemetery District charges the setting fee, paid to the cemetery and separate from the cost of the memorial: $175 for a 20″ × 10″ × 3″ cremation marker, a 24″ × 12″ × 3″ marker or a 28″ × 16″ × 3″ marker. The District also maintains an endowment care fund, required by California law, that pays for the long-term care of the grounds.
Who installs the marker at Little Lake Cemetery?
The District’s own grounds crew. We deliver the finished memorial to the cemetery, and their team sets it level with the ground. The setting fee covers this installation.
How long does it take to get a headstone made and set at Little Lake Cemetery?
In-stock flat markers are ready in 2–4 weeks. Special orders may take longer; we’ll let you know up front. Once delivered to Little Lake Cemetery, the cemetery typically sets the marker within about a week.
Can I add an inscription to an existing memorial at Little Lake Cemetery?
Yes, and Little Lake makes it easy to do it the best way. The District will lift the marker out of the ground and reset it afterward for $195 (as of November 2026). We bring the marker back to our factory, clean it professionally, and add the new inscription. Then we deliver it back to the cemetery, and their crew sets it in place. Engraving in our shop gives the cleanest, sharpest lettering, and the marker goes back looking close to new. Learn more about on-site engraving →
