Color Can Be Used as a Small Accent
Color does not have to dominate a memorial to make an impact. On this black granite headstone, the red roses and green leaves provide a small, carefully placed accent while the lettering and inscription remain traditional. The porcelain portrait adds another personal element. Because painted color will naturally fade with time, we prefer to use it selectively—the underlying engraved artwork remains in the granite and will continue to be part of the memorial long after the color has weathered.
