A Place the Parish Keeps Coming Back To
On a courtyard of blue Spanish tile at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Community, a white marble figure of Our Lady of Guadalupe stands with hands folded in prayer. Parishioners leave what they carry: red carnations tucked against the granite, a vase of roses and yellow mums set on the ledge below her.
White Marble and Engraved Granite
The memorial honors the unborn lost to abortion. Beneath the hand carved marble figure, the gray granite base carries the parish community’s engraved pledge under the heading “Remembrance of the Unborn Lost to Abortion,” and beneath it the “Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Defender of the Unborn,” framed by engraved roses at each corner.
The lower base answers with Psalm 139: “For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Every line was cut into the granite in our Chino shop.
