Giving a Portrait Room to Tell More

A larger portrait can leave room for more than a face. Mirna’s grave marker places her photograph within a scene of a Guatemalan flag, a bird, an open Bible, and roses. The tall rectangular frame gives these surrounding images space to be seen, while keeping them together on one side. Her name and Spanish tribute have a separate area beside the portrait.
