Teddy Bear Bas-relief Upright MonumentBlack Granite

This monument for James Delano Mays, Sr., 'Papa Bear,' pairs a sculpted teddy bear worked in Bas-relief with a matching Bas-relief cross and dove on the opposite corner, both carved with enough depth to cast their own shadow rather than sitting flat on the stone.

His likeness is rendered as a Photo Etch Portrait, a fine stippled etching pulled directly from a photograph rather than hand drawn.

Black granite gives both the sculpted bear and the etched portrait sharp, clean contrast, and a matching vase sits at the base for fresh flowers.
