What we handle: Design, engraving, and delivery. We submit your design to Crestlawn for approval, coordinate the delivery schedule with the cemetery office, and bring the finished memorial to the park on the scheduled day. You don’t have to chase paperwork or coordinate with the cemetery. We do that for you.
Who sets the marker: Like most Southern California cemeteries, Crestlawn handles the actual setting of the memorial themselves. Outside companies are not permitted to install on the grounds.
Setting fee: Crestlawn charges a setting fee that varies by the size and type of marker. Call us for current pricing, and the cemetery will confirm the exact charge when your design is approved.
Endowment care fee: A one-time contribution to the cemetery’s perpetual care fund, the savings account that funds the long-term maintenance of the grounds. Every cemetery in California is required by law to maintain one.
Timeline: Most Flat Markers are ready in 2–6 weeks after design approval. Upright Monuments and Granite Benches typically take 6–8 weeks. Once we deliver to Crestlawn, the cemetery usually sets the marker within 2–3 weeks.
Some sections of Crestlawn permit Upright Granite Monuments and Memorial Benches, while most lawn sections require flat (flush) markers in bronze or granite. The right answer depends on the specific section and garden. We’ll confirm what’s allowed at your plot before any design work begins.
Granite is the more affordable and versatile choice, available in many colors and ideal for deeply etched lettering, portraits, and custom artwork. Bronze offers the traditional raised-lettering look. Both are permitted in most lawn sections at Crestlawn, and we can show you each side-by-side in our Chino showroom.
Once a design is approved, most Flat Markers are ready in 2–6 weeks. Upright Monuments and Granite Benches typically take 6–8 weeks. After we deliver to Crestlawn, the cemetery’s grounds crew usually sets the marker within 2–3 weeks. We handle the design submission and delivery scheduling for you.
Yes. We submit your design to Crestlawn for approval, coordinate any revisions, and schedule the delivery date with the cemetery office. You don’t need to make a separate trip to Riverside to coordinate with the cemetery.
On-site engraving is one of our specialties at most Southern California cemeteries, but Crestlawn handles inscriptions on existing memorials in-house through their own office. To add a name, date, or inscription to a memorial already at Crestlawn, contact the Crestlawn office directly.
For families with loved ones at other Southern California cemeteries, we bring portable engraving equipment directly to the gravesite, with no need to remove the memorial. Learn more about on-site engraving →
