Start With the Cemetery

Every cemetery has its own rules about what a memorial can be: the size, the shape, whether an upright monument is allowed, and what the cemetery charges to set it. That is why we start with the cemetery. Type a name or city below, or pick a county, and we will take you to what we know about that cemetery.

Where We Go

Sixty Years of Southern California Cemeteries

Our factory is in Chino, right where Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties meet. Since 1966 our trucks have carried memorials to cemeteries across all four, and up into Ventura County. We know the office staff, the grounds, and the paperwork at each one, so a memorial we make for you arrives right the first time.

Every cemetery sets the memorial itself. Our job is to design it with you, engrave it in our factory, get it approved by the cemetery, and deliver it to their door. The cemetery’s own crew places it on the grave.

Common Questions

Questions About Ordering a Headstone for Your Cemetery

Do you make headstones for my cemetery?

Yes. VJ Memorials makes granite headstones, upright monuments, and bronze memorials for cemeteries nationwide. We deliver across Southern California with our own trucks, and we ship to any cemetery in the lower 48 states. Whatever your cemetery allows, we will show you every choice available for that grave.

How do I know which headstone my cemetery allows?

Requirements vary between cemeteries, and even between sections of the same cemetery. Some allow only flat grave markers. Others allow slants or full upright monuments. Some accept bronze or granite, and some accept just one or the other. Older sections of a park often have different rules than newer sections, and the options depend on the exact grave location.

Our cemetery pages give you a good start on the rules at each park. We will also contact the cemetery and confirm the exact requirements for your gravesite before anything is made. One welcome trend: more and more cemeteries are allowing upright monuments again, which gives families a much wider choice.

What information should I have when I contact you?

Start with the cemetery’s name and city. That tells us the general restrictions and how delivery works there. Your loved one’s name and date of death are all we need to contact the cemetery on your behalf and get the exact requirements for the grave. From there we start with the type of memorial you want and help with every option and personalization. Our Getting Started page walks through the first steps.

How much will a headstone cost at my cemetery?

Headstone prices depend on the memorial type your cemetery permits, its size and material, and the lettering or artwork you choose. Our prices page shows current starting prices, and most cemetery pages list starting prices for that park.

Cemetery setting fees and other charges are separate from the memorial price and are paid to the cemetery. We give you an itemized quote so you understand the full cost before you order. We offer many options, including the most economical memorial that meets each cemetery’s guidelines.

Who delivers and installs the headstone?

VJ Memorials delivers the finished memorial to the cemetery. The cemetery’s own grounds crew sets it on the grave, and the cemetery charges a setting fee for that work. We explain who handles each step and which fees apply to your order, so there are no surprises.

How long does it take to have a headstone made and placed?

The timeline has two parts: making the memorial, and scheduling its placement. Timing depends on the stone’s availability, design approval, the cemetery’s requirements, and the cemetery’s setting schedule. If you have a particular date in mind, such as an anniversary or a family gathering, tell us up front so we can talk about what is realistic before you order.

Can you add a name or death date to an existing headstone?

Yes, at most cemeteries. We engrave on site at more than 50 cemeteries in Southern California, so the memorial never has to leave its place. A few cemeteries require additions to go through their own office. Tell us the cemetery and what you would like added, and we will confirm whether we can do the work there and explain the steps.

Does it cost more if my cemetery is far away?

Our own trucks cover the cemeteries in our delivery area, and that delivery is quoted up front. For cemeteries farther out, we ship the memorial by freight, and the shipping cost appears as its own line on your quote. Either way, you see the full number before you decide.
